Whalehead King
A professional medical coder who currently resides in New Orleans, Matthew "Whalehead" King earned his nom-de-guerre while living ten years in Connecticut's Whaling City, New London. While in New London, he was a well-recieved author of essays about that unique place, as well as the city's unofficial goodwill ambassador. He currently is doing the same in his new home base, researching the New Orleans' indigenous culture as a Connecticut Yankee transplanted in the South. Motorcycles, motor scooters, and alternative forms of transportation occupy much of his time, as does local hagiography, voodoo, and cuisine. He currently writes posts about his discoveries in New Orleans on his blog, and he is available to provide any civic boosterism to small cities and unincorporated municipalities. He focusses his attention on the little details that make a specific place unique, always accentuating the positive.
